A NEW headining attraction and a venue shift! That’s the update on the upcoming Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA), which promises to get the masses dancing from start to finish.
The festival’s third edition, which is heavy on electronic dance music, now rolls out at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur for three days – March 13 to 15.
American superstar singer/producer Pharrell Williams been added to FMFA’s headlining treats on March 15.
As one half of production super-team the Neptunes and then as the frontman for alt-dance-pop stars N.E.R.D., Williams, is a big fixture in the music scene.
He was last in Kuala Lumpur with N.E.R.D. in 2009. Last year, Williams, 40, had a bumper year with two chart-toppers – as a featured artist on Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines (which Williams also produced) and Daft Punk’s Get Lucky. Both tunes will contest numerous Grammy awards, including Record of the Year. Here’s to a massive Grammy winner on stage at FMFA!
As a three-day fest, FMFA starts on March 13 with progressive house music producer Deadmau5 alongside special guests. On March 14, Armin Van Buuren is on with his A State of Trance 650: New Horizons show. On March 15, Williams joins the other confirmed acts for FMFA’s third day, which include American rapper Macklemore and his producer/collaborator Ryan Lewis, legendary hip hop group Wu Tang Clan, Grammy-award winning deejay Paul Van Dyk, English rapper Tinie Tempah, singer-songwriter Yuna, British dance group Rudimental and more.
