Long-haul economy passengers on British Airways are in for an exciting inflight meals experience. The largest Britain-based airline has announced an expanded menu that will take place from Jan 17.
The multi-million pound investment into the new menu is set to provide more quantity and quality to both meals and snacking options.
Options include a four-course meal (main course of chicken casserole with an ale sauce, colcannon mash and seasonal vegetables, or a vegetarian tomato, farfalle and vegetable dish), Magnum ice creams and pretzels, just to name a few.
British Airways director (brand and consumer experience) Carolina Martinoli said great inflight dining experience is a “huge driver of customer satisfaction”.
British Airways’ initiative comes on the heels of increasingly elevated cuisine experience for long-haul economy passengers on several other airlines.
Last year, the New York Times reported that several carriers are elevating their main cabin food on long-haul flights and, in some instances, the alcohol, too.
These airlines include the likes of Singapore Airlines, Eva Air, Air France, Turkish Airlines, Swiss and Delta Airlines.
Previously, long-haul economy passengers travelling with British Airways were served a complimentary snack, a three-course-meal or a light meal, depending on the time and length of their flight as well as a complimentary bar service of hot and cold drinks.
