It’s Paris, and it’s the Eiffel Tower. What better place to propose!
Someone did propose – and a Californian tourist happened to capture that moment. Jen Hurd Bohn was standing in line when she saw a ring being brandished by the man and a woman gasping in surprise.
Embrace, passionate kiss and all were photographed by Bohn.
Snapping that intimate moment then kick-started a worldwide search for the couple through the power of social media, specifically Facebook.
Bohn wanted to pass the couple the pictures of the special moment she witnessed. So she posted the images on her Facebook page on June 24 on the presumption the couple was American.
The pictures went viral and have been shared on Facebook 192,705 times. They were also picked up by American celebrity Candace Cameron Bure, best known for her role as DJ on the original Full House TV show.
Bure posted them on her public page, reported AFP, and were subsequently shared more than 39,370 times.
Has the couple been found?
Bohn, through her blog on July 4, seems to think so.
Several people in Germany, says Bohn, have contacted her saying they know the couple.
“One of the people who contacted me said they were related to the couple in the pictures. He says the couple has the pictures but does not wish to have their names or any information about them shared with media as this has gotten so big.”
But Bohn says she has accomplished what she had set out to do – “share the pictures with the couple who was in them.”
Best wishes to the couple and may they live happily ever after in anonymity!
Anyone travelling to Paris and thinking of doing the same?
