After what seemed like a really long wait, Roger Vivier is finally in Kuala Lumpur. The brand known for its buckled pumps opened its stylish doors early last month showcasing a decor concept resembling the original store.
With two large window frames dressing the corner of this boutique, it resembles the unique decor concept of the original Maison Roger Vivier in Paris.
Bringing creativity to life in this boutique is the fact that is it fashioned like a real house with an interior that captures the codes of elegance that is truly French while evoking an eclectic artistry true to the Vivier name.
Selected pieces of furniture sourced from Parisian antique stores or commissioned from contemporary artists, bring to mind the home interiors of the founder; two antique Luigi XV wooden chairs, enormous sculpted mirrors; vintage lamps and contemporary art paintings. This décor brings forward a luxurious contrast of styles and tastes from the classic to the modern.
Roger Vivier considered art as one of his major sources of inspiration and in keeping with that, creative director Bruno Frisoni alongside brand ambassador Ines de la Fressange, brought to Kuala Lumpur an echo of the new Parisian spirit, filled with eclecticism and fantasy.
Lovers of the brand will be able to find its emblematic and modernised signature models amongst the decor.
The signature Trompette pumps embellished with the classic 1965 Buckle are of course prominently on display and you can also find the iconic Miss Viv and the new Viv bags.
For those who prefer the new more rounded or flatter buckle, the 1954 Choc heel or the Stiletto Sphere heel which was inspired by the 1953 Talon Boule that Vivier designed for Marlene Diectrich are also available.
In addition, there are also the other well-known shoes – the Belle Vivier, the Prismick line with its trademark geometric découpés and the Sneaky Viv sneaker which are fun additions to the collection.
The Spring/Summer 2016 collection is also currently in store. With a distinct 70s vibe, the shoes and bags come in pop prints, retro flowers and bright colours.
