For the second year in a row, Malaysian brand Omorose Cosmetics was selected to be part of the annual Dubois Pelin & Associates (DPA) luxury gift lounge for international celebrities, nominees and presenters of the recent Golden Globe Awards.

Hosted by Nathalie Dubois-Sissoko at Beverly Hills in California during the week of the awards, Omorose was chosen to be the only Malaysian brand among other internationally-acclaimed products offered to the stars.

The privileged invitees were introduced to the vendors present and received their products which ranged from apparel, beauty products, accessories to even trips!

Terry Liau – a makeup artist with over a decade’s experience in professional makeup artistry, prosthetics and special makeup effects, and cosmetic formulation – founded Omorose, which means “beautiful” in ancient Egypt, in 2014.

The brand came about after Liau witnessed how cancer takes away so much from one’s life and realised how food we consume and products we use daily contain cancer-causing chemicals.

Viola Davis also took home some goodies from Omorose at the Golden Globes.

Omorose is a cruelty-free brand that is also free of parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates and mineral oil, and uses only natural preservatives. Also, it is certified with GMPC, ISO 9001:2008 standards and conforms to FDA, EEC and other international regulations.

The brand currently offers a BB (beauty/blemish balm) stick foundation, finishing powder, lip balm, gel blush, eyeshadow and lip colours.

As the organising committee only chooses the finest products to be given out, Liau says in a press statement he is proud that Omorose met their standards, making it possible to share with international celebrities a truly Malaysian brand.

Noteworthy celebrities who took home an Omorose gift bag at the Golden Globes include Emmy winner and Oscar-nominated actress Viola Davis (star of How To Get Away With Murder), actor Gary Cole (Veep), Kiwi stuntwoman-turned-actress Zoe Bell (Death Proof and Hateful Eight), Golden Globe-nominated actress Sarah Hay (Flesh & Bone), and all-round funny man Anthony Anderson (Black-ish).

“It is an honour to be part of a globally-recognised event. Despite being relatively new in the beauty scene, getting featured on prominent news outlets such as NBC, Red Carpet Report TV, and The Hollywood Reporter, is testimony that a Malaysian brand can be recognised internationally,” Liau says, adding that he plans on making Omorose a global brand.

Omorose is available online at www.omorosecosmetics.com, selected Shills stores around Malaysia and Tangs Malaysia at 1Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
