Disney’s beloved character makes its appearance on a limited edition T-shirt.

Disney’s most-loved character, Mickey Mouse, makes his appearance on a T-shirt, and for a good cause too.

Marc Jacobs International and Other Criteria has released a limited edition T-shirt, produced through a collaboration between Marc Jacobs and artist Damien Hirst. The T-shirt features the artwork of Hirst’s unique representation of Mickey, using his characteristic spots to interpret Disney’s beloved icon.

For Jacobs, the collaboration marks the continuation of the designer’s affection for the cartoon mouse.

Hirst comments, “Mickey Mouse represents happiness and the joy of being a kid. I have reduced his shape down to the basic elements of a few simple spots and I hope people love it, because it is still instantly recognisable – Mickey is such a universal and powerful icon.”

All proceeds will be donated to Kids Company, a British charity Hirst has long supported. Based in London and established in 1996, Kids Company provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people.

There are 2,500 units available – in white and black – and can be ordered online at www.marcjacobs.com and www.othercriteria.com.
