Nicki Minaj, in collaboration with PnB Rock and Murda Beatz, has released a new single titled Fendi. The song arrived ahead of Minaj’s Fendi Prints On collection with the Italian fashion house, which will launch in October.
The animated artwork for Fendi notably shows Minaj sporting the luxury brand’s logo, alongside PnB Rock and Murda Beatz.
Fans of the Anaconda rapper were quick to notice that the outfit from the illustration has been previously teased by Minaj as part of her upcoming Fendi collection.
In Fendi, the artist reiterates her love for the opulent Italian fashion house, rapping, “It’s Fendi, it’s poppin,’ and we on and poppin’.”
The Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock joins in, singing over a catchy beat, “Shorty got swag, she rocking Fendi, it’s all on her boots.”
Fendi was released a few weeks after Minaj announced her retirement from the music industry in pursuit of motherhood in a now-deleted tweet.
The rapper later apologised for the “abrupt and insensitive” manner of her declaration, and promised to clarify her plans soon.
In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Minaj shared details about would possibly be her last studio album, teasing that it would be a “fierce, fun and unapologetic” full-length.
Although details about the project are still scarce, the yet-untitled album would mark her fifth studio effort, following her 2018 Queen. – AFP Relaxnews
