Moschino has unveiled a fashion collaboration with a twist. The Italian luxury label has teamed up with the iconic video game franchise The Sims on a capsule collection.

The house’s creative director Jeremy Scott has announced the launch of an eight-piece apparel and accessory series inspired by the game, which is set to launch online and in Moschino boutiques worldwide on April 13.

The collection, dubbed Moschino x The Sims, will span ready-to-wear items bearing pixelated designs and iconic motifs from the game, such as a “Freezer Bunny hoodie”, a “Uni-Lama T-shirt” and a “Plumbob bathing suit”.

The hoodie will also make its way into the game in the near future, appearing in The Sims 4, The Sims Mobile and The Sims FreePlay.

“I love the idea of being able to imagine, design and bring to life a world of individual personas with The Sims universe,” said Scott in a statement.

“That concept emulates what I get to do for each collection at Moschino as I create a fantasy universe of spectacular storylines and characters.”

To mark the launch, Scott will team up with the Electronic Arts studio Maxis for a Sims-themed twist on the designer’s annual Palm Springs Desert Party.

The creative has also released images showing supermodels Stella Maxwell, Denek K and Aiden rocking some of the new pieces in a video game setting.

The collection is the latest in a string of high-profile collaborative projects for Moschino, which partnered with the high street retailer H&M October last year, following a major beauty release with Sephora back in 2017. – AFP Relaxnews
