Malaysia’s premier homegrown jeweller Habib marked the occasion of its 60th anniversary celebration with the unveiling of its “Heritage Journey” showcase, featuring exclusive heritage jewellery pieces that drew inspiration from Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage.

A Heritage Journey was held recently at The Curve shopping centre to showcase Malaysia’s largest antique jewellery collection and to take visitors on a heritage journey that traced back to the brand’s humble beginnings by Datuk Haji Habib Mohamed Abdul Latif, who founded the family-owned business in 1958 with a small jewellery shop nestled along Penang’s famed “Jewellers Corner” on Pitt Street.

Today, the double-storey shop still strongly stands as a tribute to the man behind the brand, with the top floor beautifully adapted into the Habib Heritage Gallery, featuring over 1,000 pieces of exquisite jewellery dating back as far as 100 years.

Guests were also treated to a dazzling fashion show that showcased the brand’s evolution through different eras, with actress Zahirah Macwilson showcasing the main highlight of the show.

The fashion show also featured the latest collections from HABIB Group, including designs from Hearts On Fire®, Pandora, Ice-Watch, as well as Les Georgettes by Altesse, and Stephen Webster.
