Romyda_KL, a brand that combines the artisanship of Cambodian designer Romyda Keth and Malaysian PR maven Selina Yeop Jr., is collaborating with Studio Seri Endon.
The special collection features one-of-akind pieces for men and women, of which all sales proceeds will go towards Yayasan Budi Penyayang. According to Selina, fabrics used were batik designs of past winners of the prestigious batik design competition Piala Seri Endon.
“The very distinct Romyda_KL identity is evident in this collection – cape style sleeves, obi inspired waistlines, kimono sleeves and silhouette flattering cuts,” explains Selina.
Having successfully debuted at KL Fashion Week in 2016, Romyda_KL has since garnered a growing number of loyal fans due to its signature body-con silhouettes, lightweight ironfree fabrics and delicate details.
The label embodies the best of East-meetsWest, in its French couture-making craft with interesting Asian inflections in a way that is universally appealing. In this case, the timeless batik is infused with a fashion-forward joie de vivre.
She adds that the clothes are made for women who lead dynamic lifestyles, much like herself.
“For instance, I have meetings in the morning, then I have to rush for a business luncheon followed by cocktail events and maybe a dinner date. There is no time to change! So, a Romyda_KL dress takes you from one occasion to another seamlessly … it is that versatile.” From figure-hugging dresses that perfectly mould the female form to A-line dresses and jackets that stand out in any crowd, Romyda_ KL’s designs are so distinctive that her dresses can be recognised simply with one look.
The essence of a Romyda_KL design can be seen in the amount of attention given to its hand stamp prints, laser cuts and hand embroidery, which reflect the label’s high production quality.
