As a model, Bella Hadid is as in-demand as they come. The 22-year-old American runway superstar has walked for fashion houses the likes of Chanel, Balmain, Dior and Givenchy.
So it’s no wonder that she caused quite a buzz during her Kuala Lumpur visit. She flew in to attend a Tag Heuer event, and was seen during a meet-and-greet at the boutique in The Gardens Mall.
When word got out that she was already in Malaysia, fans started going crazy. Throngs of people showed up to catch a glimpse of her.
“Coming for you Kuala Lumpur!!! I cannot wait to see your beautiful country!!!” Hadid first posted on Instagram, showing a video of her in the car.
A second post showed the passing scenery from the airport, where she commented, “So green. So beautiful” – with love emojis thrown in for added measure.
Hadid was appointed as Tag Heuer’s ambassador in 2017. Since then, she has been seen in numerous campaigns, and even a watch named after her
The Link Lady “Bella Hadid” – based on the Swiss watchmaker’s most feminine model – is a limited-edition creation with just 500 editions. It was released in December last year.
“Iconic, powerful, classic,” Hadid said, when asked to describe Tag Heuer. She also spoke about her experience as ambassador when met in KL.
“There’s been so many people who have worked with Tag Heuer before me. And to come after these athletes, actors and other stars is really a blessing.”
Hadid is said to be especially popular among the Generation Y. From haute couture and ready-to-wear to jewellery, she is now an icon of the luxury world.
Her Instagram account boasts more than 21 million followers. In 2016, she was voted “Model of the Year” for model.com’s Model Of The Year 2016 Awards.
