Montblanc Malaysia launched its new vintage exploration-inspired 1858 Collection to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the Minerva Manufacture with an event crafted in the form of a discovery trail.
Adopting the fine watchmaking design codes of the legendary professional Minerva watches from the 1920s and 30s which were designed for military use and mountain exploration, the Montblanc 1858 collection is made for those who love adventure.
Guests were given a welcome gift in the form of an adventure trail map and a Montblanc compass to begin their journey, guided by skilled facilitators.
The first checkpoint demonstrated the basic guide of survival skills, where guests were taught three basic explorer knots which are used in different situations during an exploration.
Continuing their journey, they then reached the explorer’s base camp that showcased the camping equipment and tools an explorer brings on a trail, before checking out wooden hammocks and a campfire where guests could take a break before continuing their adventure.
Next, guests discovered the essence of nature with a 3D photo wall where they could take photos in theme with the event.
The excursion continued with Montblanc South-East Asia President Matthieu Dupont officiating the launch.
Guests were then ushered into the product experience room where the Montblanc 1858 collection was displayed alongside the 160 years’ timeline of Minerva Manufacture and its heritage.
The new addition of 1858 timepieces such as Montblanc 1858 Pocket Watch Limited Edition 100, Montblanc 1858 Monopusher Chronograph Limited Edition 100 and the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere were among the highlights.
The adventure trail ended with a virtual reality rock climbing challenge and a 360-degree view of Mont Blanc for guests to experience the rugged terrain of the journey and encourage them to overcome their fear of heights.
To celebrate the spirit of exploration and mark their adventure, guests were rewarded with a Montblanc hip flask as one of the explorer’s essential survival kits.
