Designed to resemble a thick roll of hundred-dollar bills, the new Alexander Wang x Judith Leiber collaboration provides a cheeky, irreverent take on a luxury evening bag.

The limited-edition piece is made up of black, gunmetal, green, and clear Swarovski crystals mimicking a wad of cash. It has over 10,263 Austrian crystals and took one artisan over one week to bead.

The couture “money roll” has over 10,263 Austrian crystals.

Adding Wang’s signature nod to irony and urban street style, the clutch is enclosed with an industrial rubber band contrasting nicely against a refined chain shoulder strap.

“The collaboration with Judith Leiber was incredible to work on, given the opportunity to utilise the intricate craftsmanship and heritage possessed by their brand,” commented Wang.

“To create something so unique, while having fun with the design process, was an exercise not only in collaboration but also in continuing to tap our customer in a new, exciting way.”

Leiber is a name synonymous with elegance, style, and sophistication. For more than fifty years, the designer’s bags have been recognised worldwide for their meticulous attention to detail.

Wang, an American designer, is known for his talent in reinventing the “urban uniform”. His collections have an unprecious outlook on fashion, and always reflect a sense of ease.

Priced at US$4,995 (approximately RM21,000), the Alexander Wang X Judith Leiber bag will be available online in limited quantities at starting November.
