So imagine the distress Christophe Lemaire’s fans felt when the collaboration was ended. That, until it was announced the fashion designer will be joining the brand to head its Paris R&D centre.

With the Uniqlo U line, Lemaire and his team have eschewed transitory trends by pursuing innovation in design, fabric selection, stitching, and numerous other elements to elevate and redefine the standard for excellence in comfort and individuality.

The Autumn/Winter 2016 collection features 52 women’s and 35 men’s items, some of which will only roll out in November. It includes everything from luxuriously casual knits to easy-to-match outerwear, dresses and jackets.

Lemaire previously served as artistic director for global fashion houses Lacoste and Hermes. He took up his position at Uniqlo after crafting the Autumn/Winter 2015 and Spring/Summer 2016 collections for the Uniqlo and Lemaire line.

The Uniqlo U collection embodies the LifeWear philosophy of creating innovative high-quality clothing that is universal in design and comfort and made for everyone, everywhere. It comprises design that are timeless, and can be understood by everyone.

The Uniqlo U Autumn/Winter 2016 collection is available at Uniqlo stores located in Fahrenheit88, 1Utama, Mid Valley Megamall (Klang Valley) and Queensbay Mall (Penang), as well as online at uniqlo.com/my.
