Bono and Bobby Shriver’s AIDS charity (Red) is teaming up with luxury cosmetics company Fresh Beauty on a new collaboration.
The beauty brand has revamped its signature Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 to create a limited-edition Red version, reports Women’s Wear Daily.
The Suga(Red) Lip Treatment SPF 15 will make its debut for World AIDS Day on Dec 1.
The tinted lip treatment claims to “moisturise, protect, and smooth” the lips and comes in hues of cherry, nude, tulip, petal and ruby – all of which leave a sheer tint. The Red edition will be completely sheer, making it suitable for both men and women.
The luxury cosmetics brand, which is owned by LVMH (Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton), will sell the lip treatment in a specially designed case in crimson red – the charity’s signature colour.
The lip treatment is the latest in a long line of fashionable collaborations between (Red) and some of the top names in the design industry. The charity’s popular products include Beats by Dre Red Solo 2 Headphones, an Apple Red iPod Shuffle, various Moleskine notebooks and a special edition Belvedere Vodka bottle.
(Red) was founded in 2006 by the U2 frontman and the activist Bobby Shriver with the aim of engaging corporations in fighting and promoting the battle against AIDS. Sales of its high-profile collaborative products have raised over US$315mil since then, with proceeds contributing to life-saving treatment for sufferers of the disease.
US-based Fresh was founded in 1991 and places an emphasis on combining natural ingredients with modern technology for a contemporary approach to artisanal beauty. Its Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15, launched in 2004, is its number one product, selling over one million units per year. – Agency
