Singer Rihanna took to Instagram to announce that her latest fragrance is to be called RiRi.
The fragrance is “coming soon”, she revealed, accompanying a publicity image in which the star is pictured in pink gloves and pearls with the bottle – filled with pink juice – in the foreground.
Rihanna’s previous fragrance, Rogue Love, hit stores last year in time for the holiday season. That women’s fragrance followed closely behind Rogue Man, which launched the same year; among the other scents she’s released are Nude and Reb’l Fleur, her debut 2010 perfume.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry announced the official launch of her latest fragrance “Mad Potion” on Twitter.
The pop star has re-tweeted a message from her pop-up store’s account (@katyperrypopup) to her 72.9 million followers, announcing that the perfume can now be bought online by US customers. The product can even be purchased directly from the social media site, using the Twitter Buy Now card.
And for those elsewhere in the world, purchasing details are set to be released soon, and according to Women’s Wear Daily; the fragrance will also eventually make its way into stores.
The fragrance contains notes of vanilla orchid, peony and apple musk. It has a musky heart comprising a mixture of Bourbon vanilla, jasmine petals and delicate, soft musk, and base notes including vanilla, amber and musk.
It is the latest commercial venture for the global superstar, whose popular scents include Purr, Royal Revolution and Killer Queen.
Perry also recently confirmed her status as fashion icon with the announcement of two hot new clothing campaigns. Earlier this month she was revealed as the star of the H&M 2015 holiday campaign and is set to feature in a global TV and print ad series which the brand promises will be “full of joy and togetherness for the holidays”.
She also caused a stir by starring in the Autumn/Winter 2015 campaign for the luxury Italian fashion house Moschino. Photos posted by the singer from her Brooklyn shoot show her rocking a grungy, punked-up style to showcase the collection’s bold new pieces, with one memorable image showing her posing nude, covering up using a black fur coat adorned with the house’s signature vibrant motifs.
Also on the books is Colombian actress Sofia Vergara, whose new scent “Love” will feature mandarin, Colombian coffee flower and amberwood notes. It will be the second perfume for the Hollywood bombshell, following her debut “Sofia”.
Popstar Jessica Simpson is set to mark her anniversary of working a decade in the perfume business with the release of “Jessica Simpson Ten”, composed of starfruit, white chocolate bean and sandalwood. The singer’s previous creations include “Fancy Collection”, “Jessica Simpson Signature” and “Vintage Bloom”.
Meanwhile doing it for the boys is American rapper Pitbull, who will be building on the success of his “Pitbull Man” and “Pitbull Woman” endeavours with “Pitbull Miami Man” and “Pitbull Miami Woman”.
According to WWD, the men’s version will feature lemon, apple and sandalwood notes, while the women’s will focus on wild casaba melon and rain-drenched gardenia. — AFP Relaxnews
