Malaysians certainly love to travel, and with the Matta Fair just round the corner on Sept 4, there are many deals and packages to look forward to.

Many avid travellers in the country are eager to book the best vacations for the holiday season towards the end of the year. But it seems that Malaysians can’t wait.

According to Skyscanner, a travel search site, Malaysians are the earliest planners globally, with an average booking period of 79 days.

Taiwan comes a close second at 79 days, and the Philippines, third at 72 days.

Out of the 15 countries surveyed, travellers from China are the most laidback at planning their holidays, with an average booking period 40 days, with Vietnam at 48 days, and the United States at 56 days.

Flight search data has also revealed that the top travel destinations for solo travellers are London, Bali and Bangkok, while the top travel destinations for families are Bangkok, Langkawi and Kota Baru
