The Malaysian cheerleading season ended with a bang last weekend at CHEER 2015, the country’s biggest tournament.

Over 8,000 people showed up throughout the day-long event at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, where the Cyrens from SM Sri Kuala Lumpur put on an incredible performance to win their sixth consecutive All-Girls title.

The other big winners at CHEER 2015 were Mickeymitez from SMK Damansara Jaya, who won the Co-Ed category (for mixed-gender teams), and Rayvens, who won the All-Girls Junior category.

There was an added sense of excitement this year as youth news platform R.AGE ran a social video broadcast, which could be viewed by cheerleading fans around the world.

Now that's what we call a death-defying stunt. The Dynamitez from SMK Damansara Jaya put on an impressive performance as their CHEER Celebrity Supporters Reuben Kang, Marianne Tan and Jared Lee cheered them on in the audience.

R.AGE uploaded all 39 teams’ performances immediately to the CHEER website, which was complemented with behind-the-scenes interviews on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Audiences were able to immediately comment on the performances and share the videos on social media through their phones.
