With four movie premieres at Cannes Film Festival, Nicole Kidman was undoubtedly the French Riviera’s busiest star.

The Oscar winner, 49, stars in Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled, Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake, Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Killing Of A Sacred Deer and John Cameron Mitchell’s How To Talk To Girls At Parties. Kidman was awarded a specially-created “70th Anniversary Prize”.

Touted (rightfully) as the belle of the ball, Kidman’s packed schedule required her to walk the famous Palais red carpet four times, appear at four press conferences and photo calls and attend numerous other events. That meant she needed over a dozen couture looks.

To look the part of a fashion icon, Kidman worked closely with her longtime stylist Julia von Boehm.

The German-born von Boehm, who counts Kidman as her one and only celebrity client, usually stays home in New York while Kidman hits the red carpet.

The duo stay in touch via Facetime, and it is up to von Boehm to plan – with military precision – how to get the gowns, clutches, heels and jewels from countless locations around the world to the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, where Kidman resided with her family. She was accompanied to Cannes by husband Keith Urban and their daughters Sunday Rose and Faith.

“Because she has so many different events, one dress has to blow the other one away,” said von Boehm in an interview with Vanity Fair.

“You really can’t go up and down (in terms of wow factor). You have to always keep or build on that same level,” added von Boehm, who started her career as an assistant to Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld, before switching to Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue Germany.

According to von Boehm, four looks were required per day, with backups for each.

Luckily, Kidman is a dream client as she can wear anything. “She can wear any silhouette. She has extreme elegance and she’s chic. At the same time, it never gets boring,” enthused von Boehm to Hollywood Reporter.

Here are Kidman’s five best looks throughout the festival:

She kicked off her week in Cannes with old school retro glamour

For The Beguiled, she stunned in a Michael Kors gown.

Backstage, Kidman shared a video clip of herself shimmying in the sparkling frock.

The actress opted for more natural tones at a photo call for The Killing Of A Sacred Deer.

The textured Dior haute couture dress featured raffia, thread and embroideries.

My favourite is her white tulle tutu by Calvin Klein by Appointment

Topped by a bias-cut black bustier, it’s a fairytale fantasy come true. There’s a lovely visual of her daughters wrapping their arms around her tutu skirt, while Urban took their picture. “What a blessing to have my family here,” captioned Kidman on Facebook.
