An amateur photographer from New Zealand has captured the Milky Way and Aurora Australis in a stunning time-lapse video.
Sam Wilson, who lives in the South Island’s Queenstown, recorded the footage on Feb 22.
Wilson has been made aware that a small aurora storm was inbound, and positioned himself upon the Coronet Peak to film.
The six hours of shooting was displayed as a 30-second time-lapse video, which has been viewed 35,000 times on his Facebook.
Wilson said that he began photography 18 months ago, and has been seizing every opportunity he can to shoot. – Reuters
