Coway Malaysia as the nation’s leading water and air care specialist has launched its flagship water purifier Ombak, designed specifically with residents of Malaysia at heart and in mind.
Poised to be the first table top water purifier with the largest tank capacity in the market, Ombak is equipped with unprecedented temperature-volume settings of up to 50 settings – a feature among many others researched and perfected to cater to the needs only those residing in Malaysia can identify with.
Through years of dedication, Coway Malaysia’s Coway Ladies (CODYs) listened to the needs of the people, observing and analysing every quirk, habit and detail unique to Malaysia. Their findings have culminated in the birth of Ombak.
“Despite having a tropical and humid atmosphere for a backdrop, we’ve learnt that Malaysians love their teh tarik, half-boiled eggs and instant noodles a certain way – brewed, boiled and made to perfection – all of which is attributed to the right volume of water coupled with optimum temperature,” said Coway (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Kyle Choi Ki Ryong.
“Ombak is designed for ebb and flow convenience and efficiency to create a hassle-free rhythm for our bustling Malaysian lifestyles. Take for example families with breast-fed newborns. With a simple push of a button, parents can now skip the hassle and warm up their baby’s milk seamlessly with Ombak (at 40°C), while still retaining the basic essential nutrients in breast milk that are vital for the baby,” shared Choi.
With many Malaysians voicing their concerns on bacteria and hygiene, Ombak comes with UV sterilisation that remains activated for 15 minutes even after the water extraction is complete, ensuring clean drinking water at all times. Customers also have the option to add on a mineral filter if they do not prefer pure water.
“It’s the little things that matter. We’ve noticed that Malaysians have a habit of carrying personal water bottles instead of using cups or mugs. Taking that into consideration, we’ve also increased the distance between the water faucet and the base, giving ample space for one to insert their water bottles for ease of refilling,” added Choi.
According to him, Coway may be Korean in origin yet it resonates with Malaysians.
“Ombak is our gift to Malaysia for the many years of dedication and loyalty showered upon our Coway family. As Coway’s second largest market, it is pertinent we ensure our products innovate progressively to better enhance the lives we impact in a meaningful and personal way, to encourage and inspire the community to ‘Live Pure’ together,” said Choi.
Commenting on Coway Malaysia’s plans in the near future, Choi also shared that plans to innovate more products for the Malaysian market are underway and is of high priority to ensure that Malaysian households have more access to quality and clean water, personalised to their needs.
Earlier this year, Coway Malaysia announced its 2018 corporate target to achieve one million customers by the end of the year. With the launch of Ombak, Coway Malaysia is on track with its mission with an achievement of 96% of its annual target.
Ombak is available at RM4,300 for purchase while the public may also opt to rent at RM140 per month.
