Cinematic universes can now come alive in your home, thanks to the latest flat-screen TVs that deliver movie-hall clarity. The Panasonic 65in OLED 4K Smart TV – Hexa Chroma Drive PRO TV (model TH-65FZ950K) promises to transform your living room or AV room into a mini-cinema.
It combines unbeatable contrast, richer colours of an OLED screen, paired with Panasonic’s Hexa Chroma Drive technology. The results are images that look exactly as how the creators had intended.
This sleek model has a minimalist design enhanced by a elegantly slim new pedestal design and stylish “neck” connection to the screen.
Rich Blacks, Real Colour Expression
The OLED (organic light-emitting diode) TV is a self-illuminating system that individually regulates 8 million pixels.
For LCD screens, backlight is used to illuminate images on a liquid-crystal display (LCD) screen, yet darkened parts of the screen are still lit, delivering shadows that are not satisfyingly dark.
With the OLED, each pixel’s illumination intensity is controlled based on the amount of electrical current flowing through it. When there is no current, no light is emitted, which produces deep, rich blacks, and the ultimate contrast ratio with black parts of the screen actually turning pitch black.
Accurate Six-Colour Reproduction
The Panasonic OLED 4K Smart TV is also fitted with the Hexa Chroma Drive Pro – a colour management system that sets the colour space in fine brightness steps for accurate colour expression at any level of brightness.
In most conventional TVs, the screen produces colours within the range of blues, reds and greens. The Hexa Chroma Drive Pro offers up three additional colours – cyan, magenta and yellow – and introduces an extra colour range into the gamut.
With this six-colour reproduction, the Panasonic OLED 4K Smart TV achieves better pictures with its cinema-quality knowledge, with more subtle, naturally toned colour palette.
The Panasonic OLED 4K Smart TV also uses 3D LUTs (look-up tables) to reproduce colours in fine brightness steps. Mainly used in the film industry, 3D LUTs map one colour space to another, ensuring tones look accurate at virtually any brightness level.
Multi HDR Support
Panasonic TVs also support multiple high dynamic range (HDR) formats, such as HDR10 – the standard HDR format for films and ultra-high definition (UHD). HDR technology can achieve higher levels of contrast between light and dark images on the screen, creating more realistic images.
