Digital health-tech company Doctor2U has partnered with the National Heart Institute (also known by its Malay acronym IJN) to launch an “online result viewing” system in line with IJN’s goal of becoming a “smart hospital”.
The system will enable patients to be notified via SMS and e-mail once their imaging and test results are ready.
Present at the memorandum of understanding (MOU) event was IJN chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Azhari Yakub, IJN chief operating officer Akmal Arief Mohamed Fauzi, IJN chief clinical cfficer Datuk Dr Aizai Azan Abdul Rahim, BP Healthcare Group deputy chairman Joevy Beh, Doctor2U chief executive officer Garvy Beh and Ali Health chairman Datuk Razak Yusoff.
IJN’s patients can now opt in to this programme upon registration at the hospital counter.
Once they have provided the necessary consent, they will be able to view their results on the Doctor2U mobile application or website.
The project’s first phase was launched on July 15, allowing patients to view their radiology reports and images online.
The second phase, which will enable patients to view their pathology results, is expected to launch within the next three months.
Both the service and the app are free.
This arrangement is expected to make patients’ lives much easier as they need not come to IJN just to collect reports, as well as providing convenient access to medical data on a safe and secure platform.
“Patients deserve to access their own medical health data, because they own it!
“Now, with Doctor2U, they can have access to their medical results anytime, anywhere.
“They can track their health progress by comparing results from different points in time and share the results with loved ones,” said Garvy.
