Coca-Cola is teaming up with Italian fashion in producing limited-edition bottles and cans for distribution in Italy.

The collaboration is intended as a celebration of the Coca-Cola bottle’s design ancestor, which can be traced back 100 years to 1915.

Trussardi’s greyhound motif and brown, gold and red colour scheme have been reworked into two wraparound designs for 330ml size bottles, which will be made available at two Milanese locations.

One of those is the World’s Fair in Rho, 15km north-west of Milan, the other is Café Trussardi on the city centre’s Piazza della Scala. Both will stock the Trussardi bottles until the end of October, which is when Expo Milano closes.

As well as the two bespoke bottles, three new designs for cans of Coca-Cola Light will be put into circulation.

One replaces the cans’ background with a gold reptile-skin pattern, another prints the Trussardi greyhound in lime green, hot pink and purple on white, the third uses a lighter pink on silver.

All three accommodate the project’s phrase “Elegantly Cool”, and are set to appear in specially selected prestigious restaurants and cafés around the country. – AFP Relaxnews
