If you don’t trust your spouse, maybe you can put your trust (and some hard-earned cash) into a new mattress designed to catch cheating partners.
The smart mattress, or ‘Smarttres’ as the Spanish designers want to call it, can detect if someone is having sex on your bed.
According to the company Re/Code, the bed has a ‘lover detection system’ that uses vibration sensors and contact zone detectors to determine if someone is just sitting on your bed, lying in bed or having hot steamy sex on it.
The bed is so sensitive to the movements that it can tell the difference between a person having a nice afternoon nap or if your dog jumping on it. Once the bed detects what it counts as sex movements, it will alert you via an app on your phone.
“If it detects suspicious activity regarding time of use, frequency, intensity or speed, it sends a notification to the phone terminal with which it is linked,” engineer Ivan Miranda tells the Daily Telegraph.
What you will see on the app are the movement’s locations on the bed, illustrations of the intensity of those movements as well as per-minute impact. From the data, the designers claim their invention can tell you when your partner is being unfaithful.
The bed will cost around £1,200 (or about RM6,700).
