Cuteness alert! Britain’s Kensington Palace has officially released four new pictures of Princess Charlotte, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and his wife Catherine Middleton.
The pictures were taken by Middleton at the family’s residence at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, Britain and were released to the media in conjunction with Charlotte’s birthday (the princess turned one year old on May 2). “The Duke and Duchess are very happy to be able to share these important family moments and hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do,” Kensington Palace said on Twitter.
All four pictures feature only Charlotte – older brother Prince George and her parents are nowhere to be seen – cheekily climbing up a chair, smartly posing for her mother and pushing a wooden cart filled with alphabet blocks out on the lawn. Does that mean the princess can sort of walk now?
Royal baby trend alert
Charlotte wore two outfits at her “photoshoot”. In two of the pictures, she has on a baby blue ruffled-collar dress and white cardigan, paired with baby blue leggings and royal blue Mary Janes, as well as a small blue bow hairclip.
Her other outfit is a pink dress with a Peter Pan collar, matched with a pink single-button knitted bolero and pink leggings, with a pink bow hairclip to boot.
Meanwhile, days before her birthday, Charlotte’s grandmother and uncle – Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry – released a hilarious video “mocking” US President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle. The video is in response to Michelle’s post about Harry’s Invictus Games event, which will be held in the US this year.
The Invictus Games is an international sporting event created by Harry in 2014 for wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and veterans to take part in. This year’s five-day event kicks off at Orlando, Florida on May 8.
