Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock heads to South America to help an unlikeable guy win an election in the upcoming movie, Our Brand Is Crisis.
Bullock plays “Calamity” Jane Bodine, a former political strategist who is well known and respected among her peers. She’s retired now, but an interesting prospect involving a Bolivian presidential candidate takes her back to the scene to face a long-time nemesis – Pat Candy.
From the trailer, it seems like Our Brand Is Crisis is quite light-hearted, with witty lines appearing in some of the scenes. However, the movie is based on a book of the same name, which is inspired by real-life events. The trailer also includes some touching moments.
Directed by David Gordon Green, Our Brand Is Crisis also stars Billy Bob Thornton as the loathsome Candy, Anthony Mackie as Calamity Jane’s assistant and Joaquim de Almeida as Eddie Camacho. The movie is set for a release in the US on Oct 30, and includes George Clooney and Grant Heslov as producers.
