2019 continues to be a great year for Yuna, who has been nominated for the Best South East Asia Act award at the upcoming MTV Europe Music Awards.
This follows her nomination last month for Most Inspiring Asian Woman category in E!’s People’s Choice Awards.
The 32-year-old, whose real name is Yunalis Zarai, tweeted about the MTV EMA nomination today, asking her fans to go and vote for her on the MTV website.
Yuna will be going up against Vietnam’s Suboi, Indonesia’s Rich Brian, Phillippines’ Moira Dela Torre, Singapore’s Jasmine Sokko and Thailand’s Jannie Weigel in the category, which was won by Malaysian rapper Joe Flizzow last year.
This year’s MTV EMA awards ceremony will be held in Seville, Spain, on Nov 3. The awards tend to recognise achievements in the pop culture scene not just in Europe but internationally as well, with several geographically-based awards covering a diverse range of musical genres and disciplines.
Ariana Grande garnered the most nominations for this year’s EMAs, with seven awards, followed by Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X and Shawn Mendes, who were each nominated for six.
I’ve been nominated for @mtvema’s 2019 ‘Best Southeast Asia Act’ !!!
