Actor-producer Datuk Eizlan Yusof was named as the Asian Most Promising Actor at the 24th Chunsa Film Art Awards, held in Seoul, South Korea, on July 18.
The news was first reported by Harian Metro, which quoted Eizlan saying his win is for Malaysia. The 48-year-old actor said: “This proves that Malaysian talents are able to travel overseas. This will indirectly open up more opportunities for us and strengthen the Malaysian creative industry.”

Chinese actress Li Yixiao received the Asian Most Promising Actress Award while Bo Lin, also from China, was given the Asian Most Promising Director Award.
The ceremony also saw Bong Joon-ho’s film Parasite (the toast of this year’s Cannes Film Festival) winning four trophies: Best Director (Bong), Best Actress (Jo Yeo-jeong), Best Supporting Actress (Lee Jung-eun) and Best Screenplay (Bong, Han Jin-won).
Korean-American actor Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) was named as Best Supporting Actor for his work in the film Burning.
