Malaysian movie, Think Big Big, directed by Chiu Keng Guan, will open in 10,900 cinemas on May 24, according to a statement released by Astro Shaw.
The 2018 film, which opened in Malaysia in February last year, is set to be the biggest release yet for a Malaysian movie in China.
In the statement, director Chiu said: “As a Malaysian filmmaker, I am excited about this golden opportunity to share Think Big Big with cinemagoers in China. I hope the movie will touch their hearts too as it has in Malaysia.
“We are living in an era of where many are seeking for popularity in social media. Think Big Big offers an honest and humorous look at how it can change us. I hope it encourages us to cherish our time with family and friends, and most importantly, learn to love and accept yourself.”
Think Big Big starring Serene Lim and Vivienne Oon revolves around a confident plus-sized girl who dreams of becoming an astronaut. But the journey is not an easy one especially in this modern age when criticism comes in all forms and methods.
