Who knew being a toy can be a complicated thing?
From the first movie to the latest one in the Toy Story franchise, we’ve seen Woody, Buzz Lightyear and their buddies have a number of adventures. And with every film, these adorable toys (and the audience too) learn a valuable lesson.
Toy Story 4 looks no different, with a road trip involving old as well as new friends.
The first Toy Story film was released in 1996, when kids still played with toys and created imaginary worlds.
Today, toys have been replaced with gadgets and digital games. So it’s pleasant to see Woody telling a toy – called Forky, made by a little girl out of a plastic spork – what it means to be a toy. Going back to basics may not be a bad thing.
Other than Tom Hanks and Tim Allen voicing the two main characters, actors Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key and Patricia Arquette make up the newer members of the voice cast.
Toy Story 4 opens in cinemas nationwide on June 20.
