Halloween is a magical time especially for kids, since you get to put on a costume and gorge on all those candies.

In Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween – the sequel to R.L Stine’s best-selling series – Halloween is brought to life with all sorts of ghouls and ghosts entering the real world, including gummy bear candies that grow big and are scary.

In the movie’s trailer, Jack Black (who played Stine in the 2015 film) is nowhere to be seen. It’s been reported that Black is only lending his voice in the sequel.

The first film was a surprise hit, and was entertaining as it put an interesting spin on the Stine books. Let’s hope this one – directed by Ari Sandel and written by Rob Lieber – is just as good, if not better. Cast list includes Wendi McLendon-Covey, Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Caleel Harris, Chris Parnell and Ken Jeong.

Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween opens at cinemas nationwide on Oct 11.
