Remember the little boy named Christopher Robin in those old Walt Disney’s Winnie-The-Pooh episodes? It is through Christopher we got to meet Winnie-The-Pooh, a stuffed toy that happens to be his best friend – you know, that willy-nilly, silly, old bear.
Together they have unusual adventures at the Hundred Acre Wood alongside Tigger, Eeyeore, Kanga, Little Roo, etc.
In this live-action feature titled Christopher Robin, the boy is all grown up (Ewan McGregor) and has completely forgotten about Pooh and friends.
He now leads a full life as a working adult and family man. But really, Christopher is miserable at the office where he is often overworked, underpaid and with no certainty about his future. Pooh decides to remind Christopher of who he used to be.
To do that, the bear and his pals venture to London to make sure Christopher gets on the right path again. From the trailer it is a bit odd to see Pooh and Tigger looking less orange and dirtier than in the cartoon.
But the scenes featured in the trailer do make the film seem entertaining, especially when it has Pooh saying LOL lines like: “People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.”
Co-starring Hayley Atwell, Mark Gatiss, with voice cast including Jim Cummings, Chris O’Dowd and Peter Capaldi.
