It’s a girl!
After an 11-year wait, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza finally gave birth to her first child today (Mar 19 at 8:17am) at a medical centre in Kuala Lumpur. The baby was delivered via caesarean section and weighed 3.55kg.
“Siti and her baby are both doing well,” the singer’s manager Rozi Abdul Razak said in a press statement. “The couple chooses (sic) Monday to be the day of birth of their first child as Prophet Muhammad SAW was born on a Monday and it is also the first day of the Islamic month of Rejab.”
The 39-year-old, who married businessman Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa (nicknamed Datuk K) in 2006, revealed she was pregnant in October 2017. Datuk K also has four children from his first marriage.
“Her husband expressed his gratitude as everything went well. According to him, what matters most is that the labour and delivery went on smoothly and his wife and baby are healthy,” Rozi added.
Siti suffered a miscarriage in December 2015. She has said she hopes that sharing her fertility journey will help other women facing the same problem.
“Siti and her husband would like to thank family members, friends, fans and media practitioners for their support and prayers from the beginning of the pregnancy until birth,” her manager said.
