The world of every SHINee fan came to standstill on Dec 18, when the demise of the K-pop band’s frontman Kim Jonghyun made the news.
The 27-year-old singer’s fight with depression was never a secret, yet his meticulously-planned suicide came as a shock to his friends and fans alike.
He was found dead on Monday (Dec 18) and within minutes of the confirmation of his demise, his wikipedia page was immediately updated to reflect the latest news.
Jonghyun indicated his farewell with a final text message to his sister and left a longer suicide note with his close friend Nine of rock band Dear Cloud.
His wake today (Dec 19) was attended by an unending stream of fellow K-pop artistes such as IU, NCT, BTS, VIXX, BTS, EXO, SNSD, BoA. The three-day wake will culminate with his funeral on Thursday (Dec 21).
