If the West has John Constantine to rid it of evil supernatural creatures bent on disturbing the living, the East has Wong, played by Nick Cheung in the Hong Kong movie Keeper Of Darkness.
After watching helplessly as his mother commits suicide, Wong vows to never again just stand by and watch while innocent people are in trouble.
Wong has a couple of unusual methods of getting rid of vengeful spirits, including using firecrackers. Hey, whatever works, right?
However, Wong’s helpful nature is not appreciated by a murderous spirit which wants to get rid of him. Wong’s life is further complicated when a nosy reporter begins to look into his past and his supernatural abilities.
Directed by Cheung, Keeper Of Darkness also stars Kuo Tsai Chieh, Louis Cheung and Sisley Choi.
Keeper Of Darkness opens in cinemas on Nov 26.
