THIS coming Labour Day, The Actors Studio proudly presents Mission Possible: The Last Cendol, at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) and Performing Arts Centre of Penang (PenangPac).

Get ready to laugh out loud and roll on the floor laughing as this stage performance is full of zany characters and crazy antics.

Mission Possible: The Last Cendol is about three senior citizens — Chan, Mat and Sugi — whose boring lives in an old folks’ home are turned upside down when a new resident, an ex-Miss Pesta Pulau Pinang named Mona, shows up.

As they compete with one another to win her heart, they start to form a very strong friendship as well.

But all hell breaks loose when Mona persuades them to sneak her out of the home for a bowl of cendol.

Will they risk getting caught by their obnoxious caretaker Miss Rosie and her Burmese lover Siha? Will they do whatever it takes to win Mona’s heart? Sounds like a mission possible? For the sake of a bowl of cendol, anything is possible-lah!

The show is directed by Kent Tan, written by Fa Abdul with a cast comprising Ming Lee, Hilda Looi, Iki Putra, Vick Viknesh, Maggie Lee, Sky Woon, Douglas Wong and Kenneth Teoh Wai Choy.

Mission Possible: The Last Cendol is a comedy filled with the sounds of K-pop, Hindustan and P. Ramlee together along with dance sequences, hilarious scenes and the craziness of old folks.

It will be presented in Manglish (Malaysian English), Malay, Cantonese, Tamil and Penang Hokkien with English subtitles.

In addition to this, The Actors Studio, PenangPac and klpac are organising a fundraising programme, “Buy a cendol, for my idol”, for Pusat Kebajikan Rumah Grace, Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged and Pusat Jagaan Sejahtera.

All proceeds from the sale of the delicious bowls of cendol from Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul will be donated to the homes.

The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat will take Mission Possible: The Last Cendol to the stage of Pentas 2 at klpac from May 1 to 3 at 8.30pm and May 4 at 3pm as well as Stage 2 of PenangPac on May 8 to 10 at 8.30pm and at 3pm May 11.
