The Concealer Comes Before Or After Foundation?

Many are not sure which comes first, will you apply the concealer or the foundation?

Our whole team wants to clear up this question once for all! Foundation always comes first and there is no exception to this rule!

A senior makeup artist tells us that all blemishes or spots that you hid with the concealer will be removed by the foundation when you put it on.

The foundation layer needs to be put on the skin so the makeup artist can hide and even color spots that you may want to hide.

The foundation should be gently worked into the skin using careful motions with a cushioned brush from the nose to the edges of the face, where more foundation is needed.

So with that we want to talk about the right colors and shades. You need to pick the right shade for the concealer. This will depend on your face and what you want to hide. A dark spot needs to be hidden with a shade of your tone and the foundation you have put in.

A tip for those who want to hide those pesky under the eyes circle, the general tip for blemishes that are kind of blue, is to get a concealer that has a warmer tone, something mild and orangey.

Be careful and cover it all, you don’t want to end up with something looking half done. Oh and the powder is a must have so all will stay the same when you are active.
