Malaysian designers Justin Yap, Fiziwoo and Tanya Stevens for Ahnde featured their collections on the couture showcase night at the recent Starhill Gallery Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016.

Yap presented 12 beautiful pieces from his exclusive 2016 Bridal Collection, aptly themed “Les fleurs de l’orient” (flowers of the East).

The collection was inspired by the designer’s recent trip to Japan and featured elaborate oriental elements. It also paid tribute to Asian beauties such as Gong Li and Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh.

Fiziwoo’s new collection was about the ongoing journey of its two designers, Mohd Hafizi Radzi Woo and Izree Kai Haffiz, who have been in the fashion industry since 2011.

Each piece in the collection was handpicked to commemorate the important pieces that have made and shaped the brand.

London-based women’s wear label Ahnde by Tanya Stevens centres around the motto of “exploring the lyrical” by suggesting a layered interpretation of beauty.

Featuring bold, multi-dimensional pieces in rich, earthy tones, the collection paid homage to nature, drawing out subtleties and details that are often forgotten and overlooked.

One of Stevens’ bespoke pieces was auctioned off during the show with funds channelled to the Riding for the Disabled Association Malaysia.
