As we’re in the Autumn/Winter season, the colours and trends for beauty are also changing. This time around, we look at the Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2017 collections that showcased some gorgeous beauty looks.
Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab set our hearts aflutter by taking the lead in presenting some of the prettiest looks this chilly wintery season.
The sophisticated evening gowns of Zuhair Murad were perfectly set off with makeup that was soft, elegant and incredibly beautiful. Precious pieces of diamante flower crowns were worn on messy updos, lending a fairytale vibe to its the overall looks.
Elie Saab featured dreamy makeup and hair with models that had elegant smoky eyes and glowing complexions courtesy of face highlighters or illuminators. The luminous complexions were complemented with the palest of pink lip colours with a hint of gloss.
It’s All In The Eyes
To complement a vibrant coloured collection at Fendi, the makeup was kept natural with clear complexions, and a focus on wispy spidery lashes. This strong lash is reminiscent of the makeup look that top British model Twiggy popularised in the 70s.
While every other house steered away from bold eye makeup colours, Chanel went full steam ahead in playing with colours for the eyes, painting lids with a trio of perfect Autumn inspired eyeshadow shades.
Ralph & Russo chose old world glamour with a twist of luminous glowing skin and sophisticated cat eye makeup. The starkness of the winged eyeliner is brilliantly contrasted with a pale pink lip infused with silver shimmer.
At Jean Paul Gaultier, models were sent down the runway wearing the fashionable no makeup makeup trend, with skin barely layered with makeup and very natural. Instead, the focus was on a triangular patch of blue highlighted hair.
It’s definitely a season with something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of the no makeup makeup trend, the flirtatious cat eye or otherworldly complexions that are hypnotically mesmerising.
