Broadway’s biggest names recently gathered in New York for the 71st Tony Awards to celebrate the best in American theatre.
While the event is no Oscars, it did see the stars bringing their sartorial A-game to the red carpet.
From sweet floral dresses to glittering gowns, here’s a look at the best-dressed stars from the Tony Awards.
The actor and singer turned heads with her leaf-embroidered Oscar De La Renta column dress. She even matched the verdant colour with a same shade of eye shadow for extra effect.
Nixon, who won Best Featured Actress during the night, looked stunning in a strapless Rosie Assoulin pink dress. Fitted through the front, the gown featured an origami fabric overlay at the back and drapery.
The fashion designer looked like she was the most comfortable person on the red carpet. Lyons wore a Voutsa silk robe dress, decked with colourful snakes. “Yes, I am wearing diamonds and a bathrobe,” she joked, in an Instagram video.
Kendrick made a grand entrance in a Miu Miu design. It gave off a more fun and flirty feel with a white floral design, deep V-neck, and red bow at the waist. The sheer back was especially gorgeous.
From far, Fey’s black gown may look muted. But only upon a closer look that you will notice the gold embellishments and feather detailing. Definitely subtle yet sophisticated.
