For its annual Holiday Collector series, Lacoste embarks on an unusual journey.
It was an idea that came about after creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista met French graphic designer Jean-Paul Goude.
Baptista gave Goude carte blanche to design not only the logo on limited edition items – polo shirts, bomber jackets, bags and clutches – but also the brand’s packagings for Christmas.
Goude, who left his indelible mark on the 1980s and 90s through his work with muse Grace Jones, reimagined the Lacoste crocodile.
Dressed-up and sophisticated, two creatures out of Goude’s imaginary world are embroidered upon a capsule collection comprising men’s, women’s and children’s polo shirts, as well as a tote bag, a clutch and a limited edition bomber jacket.
The short or long-sleeved heavy cotton pique polo shirt comes in five classic colours: White, navy, mottled grey, green or red. A children’s short-sleeved polo shirt is also available in mottled grey and navy.
One of the two graphics that characterise this edition is embroidered on the navy small leather pique of both a tote and a clutch from the “Chantaco” line.
This collection is now available at all Lacoste stores.
