Step aside, Taylor Swift squad. There’s a new glam entourage in town, and it belongs to Beyoncé! Eighteen of her family and friends – including former FLOTUS Michelle Obama – got in formation for a photoshoot to commemorate the entertainer’s birthday.
Beyoncé, who turned 36 on Sept 4, posted the photos on her website, featuring everyone styled to look just like her in the Grammy-winning music video, Formation.
Though the black-and-white images featured Beyoncé’s mum Tina Knowles, Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy, Beyonce’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and tennis star Serena Williams, it was Michelle Obama’s picture that set the Internet on fire.
Fans have been excited to see the former First Lady Of The United States in Beyoncé’s close circle.
The photos – showing the ladies in a black dress, a hat and a statement necklace, with their heads bowed down – wasn’t just a birthday gift for Beyoncé. It was also to encourage fans to donate to those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas where she’s from.
Beyoncé is set to join George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand, Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey in an hour-long telethon on Sept 12 to raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
