We’ve all had the urge to punch someone or something at some point to release our pent-up frustration.
But, instead of punching a human and causing agony, why not try some air punching and get a workout at the same time?
One of the stage activities offered by Great Eastern at the FitForLife KL 2017 is Body Combat, a high-energy martial arts-inspired workout that combines movements from karate, taekwondo, boxing, muay thai, capoeira and kung fu.
You can punch, scream and kick all you want in this non-contact art, and come away feeling great about yourself, without any bruises or cuts.
Instructors Kevin Lim and Tee Jiunn Hoong from True Fitness will guide you through the moves and offer varying levels of intensity to suit different levels of fitness.
For those tired of traditional exercises, Body Combat provides an alternative way to learn some handy, self-defence manoeuvres and build cardiorespiratory fitness while burning up to 740 calories during a 55-minute class.
It also helps you develop coordination, agility and speed.
No experience is necessary and all you need is a tumbler of water and an extra pair of clothing, as you’ll be sweating aplenty by the end of the session.
Catering to all ages and abilities, Body Combat is a product of New Zealand fitness giants Les Mills, the pioneers of choreographed fitness moves with accompanying music.
As the world’s largest distributor of trademarked exercise programmes, the company’s philosophy is simple – as long as people prefer to live than to die, and be healthy rather than sick, fitness has a place in life.
With more than 50 exhibitors highlighting the latest healthy lifestyle tips including nutrition, health checks, fitness and diet trends, visitors will be spoilt for choice at the upcoming fair.
FitForLife KL 2017, with the theme “Get Fit. Live Great!” aims to inspire Malaysians to lead a healthy lifestyle by being physically and mentally fit. FitForLife KL 2017 is organised by Star Media Group Berhad with Great Eastern Life as exclusive event partner.
