Amazon Prime members can now order their next meal hands-free and have it on the table in under an hour, thanks to an Alexa Skill.
Alexa-enabled devices including the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot can now take voice orders with the simple command, “Alexa, order from Amazon Restaurants.” The meal will then be delivered to the customer for free.
Users can guide Alexa by using the name of a restaurant or a particular cuisine type, and the service will offer their order history at specified locations or menu options available for selection. Amazon has promised no price-markups on the service, which is available in more than 20 US cities, including Chicago, Los Angeles and Seattle.
Food can also be ordered via the Amazon and Prime Now mobile apps or www.amazon.com/restaurants. – AFP Relaxnews
