The team behind the commercially and critically acclaimed documentaries on Ayrton Senna and Amy Winehouse have focused their lenses on global soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
In supercar circles the argument is between Ferrari and Porsche fans. In music it’s between those that prefer The Beatles and those that love the Rolling Stones.
In the world of football, meanwhile, the debate is currently centered around whether Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo is not simply the greatest player of this generation but the best player ever to have kicked a ball in the game’s history.
The new documentary Ronaldo, due to hit screens on Nov 9, tries to show the sometimes self-assured and arrogant – if justifiably so – Ronaldo in a completely new light. Its makers were given complete access to the Portuguese football player and his family for 14 months and the finished film promises to show a side to the player that neither his fans nor his greatest detractors knew existed.
And, for those that prefer Messi, never fear. A documentary about the Argentine player is also currently in production. – AFP Relaxnews
